Who can volunteer?
Anyone can volunteer. You don’t need a special skill or experience. We have many volunteer opportunities which can be undertaken by anyone without training, or minimal training. If you do have a special skill, please let us know, as this would be a wonderful way to benefit the Dharma community.
How much time will it take?
It can take as little or as much time as you have. Each and every hour of volunteering counts. Come and speak with us about your schedule and availability.
What kinds of volunteer opportunities are there?
Our volunteer needs range from greeting people for our classes, cleaning, changing the shrine offerings, as well as specific skills such as graphic design, web updates or event planning. To find out more about the different opportunities, please contact us.

Our mission is to provide the people of Hampton Roads, Richmond, the Peninsula and those in the greater Eastern Virginia area access to Buddhist meditation and other tools to cultivate meaningful, peaceful, and happy lives.
Our approach to training the mind is based on the New Kadampa Tradition teachings, which bring the practice of Buddhist meditation to the world in a contemporary and accessible manner. We offer diverse courses and study programs for all levels of practitioners, ranging from people who just wish to learn about meditation through to those who wish to engage in in-depth study and practice of the Buddhist path to enlightenment.
Each contribution of your time is immensely meaningful and will contribute to the spreading of Buddha’s teachings and to the benefits that come from applying them in daily life to other in Hampton Roads and surrounding areas.
This means you will be helping others learn the true causes of happiness and how to attain it!
