Buddhist Mantra & Mala Workshop with Meditation Teacher, Cris Katogiritis
This is a special hands-on workshop. It will include guided meditation, an explanation of the meaning and significance of Buddhist Mantras (chanted prayers)
and Malas (prayer beads) followed by making your own mala to take home.
Mantra – A Sanskrit word, literally meaning “mind protection”. A Buddhist mala is a string of beads used to count prayers or mantra recitations.
For Buddhist practitioners, their mala is a very precious and meaningful object. In this workshop you’ll have the opportunity to find out about mantra recitation and how to make and use a mala.
Event Schedule for Saturday, November 23rd, 11 am to 1:30 pm:
11:00 – 11:45 am: Introduction to Mantras and Malas
Noon -1:30 pm: Mala Making Workshop
Cost: $25 (cost includes beads and materials to make your own mala). If you
have special beads that you would like to incorporate into your mala, feel free to bring them.
