4 Day Weekend Retreat at the Beach
Understanding the Ultimate Nature of Reality:
The Solution to All Our Problems
Fri. Jan 12 – Mon. Jan. 15
Hosted by Kadampa Meditation Center Maryland
What are you doing this long MLK Jr. holiday weekend that will support you thorughout the coming year ? January is a wonderful time to go inside , really inside , the mind. This special opportunity to meditate on the Ultimate Nature of the Reality is not to be missed.
What is it about ?
This retreat over MLK Jr. holiday weekend will help us to deeply relax and recharge our spiritual batteries. The talks and guided meditations will focus on increasing our understanding and experience of emptiness, the way things really are.
We naturally believe that the things we normally see exist the way that we they appear to us. Unfortunately, this belief is false and is the source of all our suffering and problems. Learning to gain a heartfelt understanding of how things actually exist is not easy, but as we make effort to deepen our correct understanding, we begin to free ourself from our mental suffering. A direct realization of emptiness, or ultimate truth, opens the door to permanent liberation from all suffering and the perfection of our human qualities: the blissful state of enlightenment.
This retreat is suitable for everyone from beginners to those who have realizations. For beginners, you will learn something that will change your life, and for those with more experience, you will have the opportunity to deepen your understanding through meditation.
We will remain silent in the mornings and then, while remembering illusion-like appearance, get to know others at lunch and later in the day as we take walks on the beach and enjoy the ocean air.
